Creator Interview With Rachael And Lucas Simari
This week, we’re thrilled to feature Rachael & Lucas Simari, the dynamic duo behind @rachaelandlucas (on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube). What started as a fun way to document their lives for family on YouTube quickly transformed into a full-fledged career in content creation. Their lighthearted challenges, relatable family moments, and positive energy have resonated with audiences across platforms.

Rachael, a former Speech-Language Pathologist, and Lucas, a Physical Therapist, found themselves balancing their careers while growing an engaged social media presence.
When their son’s health made daycare challenging, Rachael made the leap to stay home and focus on content full-time — while Lucas continues to work and contribute to their journey. Beyond social media, they’ve also ventured into real estate, adding another exciting layer to their entrepreneurial story.
Join us as we dive into how they create content, what keeps them motivated, and their best advice for aspiring creators.
Their story is a reminder that success often starts as a passion project — and with the right mindset, it can turn into something incredible!
How did you get started with social media? Was it a goal of yours or on a whim, and which platform?
We actually got started on social media to film our day for our family on YouTube. It was honestly a whim!!
We then started doing silly challenges to get away from the stress of our days. We told ourselves if we even had 1,000 subscribers we would be ecstatic!
What were you doing (or where were you in life) before you started on social media?
I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and Lucas is a Physical Therapist.
Who were some of the creators or influencers you looked up to when you first started posting on social media?
We really didn’t have anyone we emulated because we were just doing it for fun.
Was there a specific piece of content or instance in which you went viral or was it a slower build up over time? How did you feel and what did you do afterwards?
My twin and I decided to do a video on our daughter, Lillian, by dressing the same and having her guess which one was mommy. That video was our first viral video on YouTube!
On Instagram our very first Reel went viral and we continued climbing up from then.
At what point did you decide to go “all-in” on social media? What were the factors that made you decide to pursue content creation full-time? Did you have a back-up plan?
We decided when our son was 18 months. He was constantly getting sick from school so I decided to be a SAHM (stay at home mom) and work from home.
Lucas still works as a Physical Therapist. We both do social media and also just started buying properties to turn into short term rentals!
Every creator’s creation process is different. Take us through how you typically create content? Do you have a set process or how much of it is on the fly?
We actually write down every idea we have in a group message between the two of us.
I no longer scroll through social media for fun. I am always working, looking for inspiration. I also get random ideas and write them down.
Then I have a calendar and we schedule what we are going to film that day. Of course, there are some videos we do on the fly.
If you could go back to when you started your journey as a creator and give yourself two pieces of advice, things to keep in mind, or things you’ve learned — what would you say to yourself?
That is a good question! I don’t think there really is anything I would tell myself.
I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and helps shape the person you are today.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten for being a creator?
The best piece of advice is to never compare yourself! “Comparison is the thief of all joy”.
Is there a piece of content or story you’ve shared that is most memorable to you? Why is it meaningful?
I would say the videos where we make people laugh.
Someone messaged us saying they were having a really, really bad day but our content helped uplift their spirit.
How did you hear about or get connected with The Sociable Society? In what ways have TSS helped you pursue your goals and aspirations?
We heard about you all from another manager we know. We are so blessed that she was able to connect us! TSS definitely helps us navigate all the brands and keep us on track.
What’s been your biggest “win” with The Sociable Society?
All the amazing brands we get to partner with!
What do you value most in a Creator Manager?
I value how hard they work to secure us amazing deals with brands and fight for us before, during, and after the deal is done!
Also keeping us on task, sending us reminders when everything is due really helps us stay on top of everything!
To date, what has been your favorite or most memorable brand partnership? Tell us why?
I loved working with Amazon!
We love when the brands let us be ourselves, they were very open to our creative concept and resonated very well with our audience! Win-Win 🙂
What’s one thing in 2024 that brands should know about working with creators, but don’t?
That adding too many words on the screen or over talking about the product will hurt the overall push and make it feel too much like an ad.
If you can let the creator keep it natural and showcase the product, people will be more interested in it and find out from the description more about/ and where to purchase.
Since you started, how has the social media and/or creator space changed?
So many people are able to find their place in the space. It’s so fun to see!
What are some of the biggest changes that have affected you personally?
I would say the algorithm so we have to be mindful of staying within our niche.
What are some trends of shifts you did not expect coming?
I would say never expect anything when it comes to social media! Haha! It is forever changing
What’s one prediction you have for social media and being a creator in 2025?
That is a good question! I can see social media becoming more personal — people wanting to hear their content creators voice vs voiceover.
Any special shoutouts, mentions, thank you’s or anything else you’d want to share?
We want to shout out Kaia for being such an amazing manager! You have restored our faith in managers!
Thank you for always working hard to make sure we are moving in the right direction. We love you!!!!!
