Meet Morgan Hill: Creator Manager at The Sociable Society

Interview with Morgan Hill: Insights from a Creator Manager
Morgan’s journey into the creator industry was a natural progression from her passion for the creative side of public relations. She emphasizes the importance of individuality, authenticity, confidence, humor, consistency, and strong organizational skills in her role. At TSS, Morgan feels a profound sense of trust and support from leadership, allowing her to excel in managing creators’ careers and fostering genuine brand partnerships.
How long have you worked in the creator industry? At TSS?
3-5 years in the creator space and 2 years at TSS!
What skills are essential for thriving in the creator economy today?
Individuality, authenticity, confidence, sense of humor, and consistency.
Also, time management, project management, and staying organized online.
What made you join the creator industry? Did you always know you wanted to be in it?
I always wanted to be on the creative side of PR and once these jobs started popping up, it was a natural fit!
What is one piece of advice for someone entering the creator economy?
I’d tell someone who is entering the creator economy space for the first time to try and keep an open mind, and don’t box yourself in.
There are so many moving parts in this industry and things change so quickly, so you have to be able to adapt.
Describe your journey at TSS in one word and explain why.
Trust.
I’ve never felt as much trust and confidence from leadership in my ability to get my job done — I truly felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders when I got here.
Not because I had less work, but because I knew I could do it and had the support to do it well.
What is a unique skill you bring to your role?
I’d say that my exceptional organization is the most unique skill I bring to my role.
There are so many moving parts in this job, so the best thing I did for myself when starting out was figure out what works best for me (resources, extensions, etc.) and follow my processes religiously.
What productivity hack do you rely on during busy campaigns?
MixMax!
I use this Chrome extension for tracking email communications, follow ups, and easy access to commonly used templates. SUCH a time saver!
How would you describe the TSS culture to someone considering joining?
I would describe the TSS culture as inclusive, innovative, and collaborative.
I feel, especially in our creative industry, that the most valuable attribute a company can have is their ability to bring employees together to reach a common goal.
What is the biggest misconception about influencer marketing?
The biggest misconception about influencer marketing is that the most important data is follower count, however, any brand will tell you that engagement and relevance to their target audience are far more valuable than audience numbers.
What advice would you give brands entering creator partnerships?
Be unique and listen to your creator — the creators know their audience the best and what kind of concepts and styles will perform well and which will not.
What do you prioritize when picking creators for your roster?
Consistently high engagement numbers and responsiveness are my top priorities when picking a new creator for my roster.
Responsiveness is important because it reflects your dedication to and professionalism in the job, which gives our team the confidence to know you will your work seriously and can meet deadlines.
What is your favorite TSS Team moment?
LTK Con 2024 — I had a blast getting to meet coworkers IRL for the first time and catch up with others I hadn’t seen in a while.
It’s always a special treat for us to be together in person, especially when we also get to have our creators around as well.
How has TSS supported your personal or professional growth?
TSS has supported my personal and professional growth by providing me with the support and resources needed to be confident in myself and my abilities, and exceed my goals!
What is your favorite TSS tradition… or any ideas for a new one 😉
My favorite TSS tradition is the “white elephant” gift exchange that we do during the holidays. It helps to bring our team closer together on a more personal and emotional level.
Describe TSS team in three words!
Strategic. Engaging. Inclusive.
If you could switch roles with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
If you could switch roles with anyone for a day, I would switch with Senior Manager, Lexi Rubinstein, to see if I’d be able to keep up with that inbox, given her billing numbers and high level creators.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is when my creators reach personal financial milestones; things like being able to their first home or being prepared for a new baby.
Where is your preferred place to work? Desk, Couch, Bed, Coffee Shop?
My cute new desk in my living room; typically with a cat or two sitting at my feet!
What is your fav mid-day bev to get you through a long work day?
Iced Tea (I’m southern).
That’s a wrap on this week’s Team Sociable Session with Morgan Hill!
We hope you enjoyed getting to know more about Morgan and her invaluable contributions to The Sociable Society. Each team member brings their own unique strengths to our agency, and we’re proud to showcase their expertise through this series.
