Interview with Lauren Lee, Creator Coordinator at TSS

What made you join the creator industry? Did you always know you wanted to be in it?

I got to start on the creator side of things a bit for myself which made me fall in love and I knew I wanted to be on the backend!

I started on the brand side and quickly realized that the creator/agency side was right up my alley. I love it!

It’s so rewarding to be a small part of something that blends business with so much creativity and human interaction!

What key lessons have you learned from creators you work with?

Authenticity wins every time! Creators who stay true to their personal brands connect better with audiences.

Only taking brand deals that align with who YOU are and what you believe in will pay off in the end.

What is one piece of advice for someone entering the creator economy?

Focus on building genuine relationships with everyone you come by.

How has TSS changed your perspective on influencer marketing?

It’s shown me how strategic and multifaceted influencer marketing can be. It’s not just about likes or views — it’s about long-term partnerships and mutual growth.

It is also so interesting to see how much goes into each campaign on the backend by sometimes 3-8 people — all for the success of the creator and brand!

Describe your journey at TSS in one word and explain why.

Collaborative.

The Sociable Society at LTK Con 2024

There is not a day that goes by where I am not talking to people! I love how I get to work from anywhere I need to, but also be so hands on with everyone, managers and creators!

What made you choose to work at TSS, and what is your favorite part of your job?

The collaborative culture drew me in, but my favorite part is watching creators achieve their goals and knowing I played a part in that.

What is a unique skill you bring to your role?

I’m detail-oriented while still seeing the big picture!

Describe an ‘a-ha’ moment that has shaped your career.

During a fast paced campaign, I realized the importance of pivoting quickly. Flexibility is key, and ensuring that both the creator and brand know you are doing everything in your power to make them both happy!

What productivity hack do you rely on during busy campaigns?

Time-blocking my calendar, prioritizing tasks and emails with a color-coded system and always TO DO lists! Everyday!

I also like to get out and move my body. Working out in the morning is a non negotiable for me to clear my mind and prepare for my day.

When things start to get crazy I just get up and walk away from my computer for 5-10 mins and recuperate! It is key to make sure you are giving yourself brain breaks 🙂

How would you describe the TSS culture to someone considering joining?

Oh gosh, I say this all the time — but collaborative and fun! I seriously feel like I get to chat with people all day long while also getting my work done!

What is the biggest misconception about influencer marketing?

That it is “easy” — far from it, but so worth it!

SO much goes into each campaign on the backend from spacing out due dates for creators, keeping track of live dates, following up with brands, ensuring exclusivity is met and doesn’t interfere, and so much more!

What advice would you give brands entering creator partnerships?

Listen to your creators and what they think will perform the best for their platform. They know their audience the most and sometimes the salesy videos are not what get people to purchase the product.

The creator wants to perform just as well as you want them to 🙂

What is your favorite TSS Team moment?

Getting to attend LTK Con this year!! Literally so fun getting to be included in all the events, meet creators on our roster, get to chat with so many local brands, and most importantly get to be with all my co workers!

We got to hangout and work together in a coffee shop everyday and it was so fun to get to work in person with everyone!

How has TSS supported your personal or professional growth?

Personal: TSS has helped me develop confidence in navigating relationships with creators and brands, while also teaching me the importance of work-life balance.

Professional: TSS has expanded my understanding of the creator economy, my time management, and the importance of creating relationships with everyone you come across.

Describe the TSS team in three words!

Innovative, Supportive, GROWING!

If you could switch roles with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?

OFC Ella’s 🙂 Since coming from social media before this…I still love it!

I don’t have it in me to do everyday (and for sure love the creator side of things) but we love a social gal!

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Getting to create amazing relationships with the creators!

Where is your preferred place to work? Desk, Couch, Bed, Coffee Shop?

Coffee shop! I love background noise — but mostly I am at home in my kitchen with music playing in the background

What is your fav mid-day bev to get you through a long work day?

Dr. Pepper or a Spark Rehydrate 🙂
