Welcome back to Talks With TSS, The Sociable Society’s exclusive series where we dive deep into the journeys of our incredible content creators. In our second episode, we sit down with the vibrant and inspiring Jasmine Nguyen, a former contestant on ABC’s The Bachelor who has since carved out her own path as a successful full-time content creator.

About Jasmine Nguyen

Based in Houston, Texas, Jasmine Nguyen transitioned from the corporate world to full-time content creation just two years ago. While many recognize her from The Bachelor, Jasmine has worked diligently to build a personal brand that stands on its own merits.

“There’s a lot of people in my community who really don’t know me from the show whatsoever,” Jasmine shares. “That’s one thing I love about being able to do this — you can make it into whatever you want.”

Choosing The Sociable Society

Jasmine’s journey with The Sociable Society began when she connected with her manager, Lexi. Unlike other agencies that require binding contracts, Jasmine was drawn to TSS’s collaborative and flexible approach.

“Something felt really right for me,” she recalls. “I loved that there was no contract. The goal was to work together because we wanted to, not because we were locked in.”

This partnership has been instrumental in Jasmine’s growth, providing her with a supportive network and opportunities that align with her values.

The Leap to Full-Time Content Creation

One of the pivotal moments in Jasmine’s career was landing a commercial with Toyota early on.

“It was one of those things where I felt like it was so out of reach,” she says. “Creating content that makes it to a worldwide commercial — that was the turning point where I thought, ‘Oh, this can be something.'”

This experience solidified her passion for content creation and showcased the limitless possibilities within the industry.

On Selecting Brand Partnerships

Authenticity is key for Jasmine when it comes to brand collaborations. She prioritizes working with companies that resonate with her daily life and personal values.

“I won’t work with brands that have a history of not working with people of color,” she emphasizes. “I lean towards products I use daily. The fact that I can sprinkle in actual sponsorships that are organic and make sense — that’s important to me.”

Some of her most memorable campaigns include long-term partnerships with brands like Kérastase, where she can share her love for hair care, and McDonald’s, which allowed her to bring a creative twist to a globally recognized brand.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Social Media

Jasmine is optimistic about the evolving landscape of social media. She notes a shift toward more detailed and quality content, moving away from the quick snippets that dominated during the early days of TikTok.

“People really love the quality of content now,” she observes. “They enjoy all the extra information — the details — not just the fast facts.”

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity: Heading to the Olympics

In an exciting development, Jasmine is partnering with NBC to attend the upcoming Olympics in Paris.

“I get to see the Olympics and what goes on behind the scenes,” she beams. “It’s such a bucket-list thing. I never thought I would be able to do this.”

Not only will she witness the world’s best athletes compete, but she’ll also share this unforgettable experience with her sister, who recently got engaged.

On Balancing Personal Life and Content Creation

Navigating the fine line between personal and public life can be challenging. Jasmine chooses to share aspects of her life that she feels comfortable with, aiming to be an “online big sister” to her followers.

“I sprinkle little bits of personal stuff into my content,” she explains. “But I want people to come to my page knowing they’ll find outfit ideas, fashion advice, and hair care.”

Her approach allows her to maintain authenticity while protecting her privacy.

Advice for Aspiring Content Creators

For those looking to follow in her footsteps, Jasmine emphasizes the importance of balance and self-care.

“When you work for yourself, it’s hard to shut off,” she admits. “I believe in taking breaks. You have to learn how to shut off to avoid burnout.”

She also encourages new creators to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new forms of content.

“I wish I had leaned into long-form content sooner,” she reflects. “Challenge yourself to get out of your comfort zone.”

On Staying True to Her Audience

Jasmine is fiercely protective of the trust her audience places in her. She shared a story about a product that caused her an allergic reaction, leading her to cancel a campaign despite having completed all the work.

“There was no way I could have posted that, knowing the reaction it gave me,” she says. “I couldn’t risk that with my community.”

This commitment to authenticity has helped her build a loyal following that values her honesty and integrity.

On Connecting with Followers

Meeting her followers in person has been one of the most rewarding aspects of Jasmine’s career.

“It’s so cool to put a face to a name,” she says. “What I’m doing is actually making a difference. They’re actually watching all of my stuff.”

These interactions reinforce her passion for content creation and the community she’s built.

Closing Thoughts

Jasmine Nguyen’s journey from reality TV to successful content creator is a testament to the power of authenticity, hard work, and staying true to oneself. Her story inspires us to embrace opportunities, remain genuine, and connect deeply with our communities.
