Interview with Olivia Mascolo: Inside the Role of a Creator Coordinator at TSS

What skills are essential for thriving in the creator economy today?

1) Being able to adapt and 2) being able to produce content that is both authentic and relatable.

What made you join the creator industry? Did you always know you wanted to be in it?

It was during my senior year of college that I realized this is the career I wanted to pursue.

I remember brainstorming, trying to figure out what jobs I genuinely saw myself enjoying, and working in social media and on the brand side was always something I knew I’d love.

I landed an internship at another talent agency, and that’s when I got a deeper look into the creator industry. That’s when I knew I could see myself pursuing a full time career in the creator industry.

How has TSS changed your perspective on influencer marketing?

I’ve learned A LOT on what goes into executing a campaign and all the “behind the scenes”.

Describe your journey at TSS in one word and explain why.

Grateful. So so grateful I couldn’t be luckier to have landed this role at TSS. Huge thanks to Jay, Emily, and the whole team for bringing me on.

This job is exactly what I hoped for after college, and I couldn’t ask for a better team and company to work for. I’m so happy I get to do something I’m truly passionate about, and the flexibility makes it even better.

My favorite part is when people ask me about my job because I genuinely love what I do, and TSS is such a big part of why! 🙂

What made you choose to work at TSS, and what is your favorite part of your job?

A lot of creator managers I worked with at my previous agency moved to TSS, so I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did!

My favorite part of the job is being part of such an amazing, supportive team.

I’ve learned so much from everyone here, and the remote, flexible work setup is a huge plus. Plus, I love helping manage creators and collaborating with brands I love!

What is a unique skill you bring to your role?

I would say problem solving and work ethic. I’ll always go the extra mile and always give 110%.

What productivity hack do you rely on during busy campaigns?

Oo im still working on being organized and what works best lol BUT I would say

1) Labeling my emails

2) Making sure nothing slips through

3) Going through each creator’s Basecamp — always having a clear understanding of which campaigns are running etc.

How would you describe the TSS culture to someone considering joining?

Inclusive, supportive, positive.

What is the biggest misconception about influencer marketing?

I feel like a misconception about influencer marketing is that it’s “all about follower count”.

People often think success depends on how many followers an influencer has, but it’s really about engagement, authenticity, and how well they align with the brand.

What do you prioritize when picking creators for your roster?

I look at engagement and if they have that “it factor.”

I also check if they can tap into different niches, stay real with their audience, and have built a solid following by inspiring people and sharing relatable content

What is your favorite TSS Team moment?

I would say meeting the team at NYFW (sadly, not everyone, but most of the TSS Team)

How has TSS supported your personal or professional growth?

I’ve learned a lot and continue to grow in understanding what makes a great manager and leader, especially when it comes to taking charge in different situations and handling challenges

What is your favorite TSS tradition… or any ideas for a new one 😉

I like this new tradition in where you want TSS members to be featured more in social media posts!

Describe the TSS team in three words!

Kind, hard working, inspiring

Where is your preferred place to work? Desk, Couch, Bed, Coffee Shop?

Desk

What is your fav mid-day bev to get you through a long work day?

Iced coffee!
