This week, Team Sociable Sessions highlights Lexi Rubinstein, Senior Creator Manager at The Sociable Society. With almost four years at TSS and a deep passion for influencer marketing, Lexi has mastered the art of building meaningful relationships with both creators and brands.

What skills are essential for thriving in the creator economy today?
Over communicating, being passionate about this industry + your creators, curating quality emails + pitches, networking + creating lasting relationships with your brand partners.
What made you join the creator industry? Did you always know you wanted to be in it?
A friend of mine on the roster introduced me to Jay (Kent-Hume, our Co-Founder and CEO) — I wouldn’t believe you if you told me I’d be here today!
What key lessons have you learned from creators you work with?
To over communicate EVERYTHING and always be adaptable to this changing industry — you can see who the successful creators are over time.
What is one piece of advice for someone entering the creator economy?
Add all the brand contacts you work with, especially your favorite ones, on LinkedIn and nurture those relationships since the influencer world is small!
How has TSS changed your perspective on influencer marketing?
I never realized how much went on behind the scenes, but it truly does require a whole team to have a seamless campaign!
Describe your journey at TSS in one word and explain why.
Whirlwind.
In a matter of 4 years, I feel like I’ve lived a lifetime here (in a good way lol).
As a young adult, 4 years isn’t a ton of time but I feel like since I’ve been here, the team has really taken a chance on me and thrown me into situations where I’ve had to grow and learn — which has got me to where I am today.
TSS has given me such a great growth path and it’s amazing to have more of a leadership role where I can help contribute to the growth of the company now.
What made you choose to work at TSS, and what is your favorite part of your job?
The industry + team — that is my answer for both!
I am truly so passionate about influencer marketing and could talk your ear off for hours about it.
I also LOVE our team and have made so many best friends here who I’d trust if I were a creator!
What is a unique skill you bring to your role?
Making sure every person I encounter whether it’s a brand or a creator has an extremely personable experience!
Describe an ‘a-ha’ moment that has shaped your career.
Become organized + setting boundaries.
What productivity hack do you rely on during busy campaigns?
The snooze feature on Gmail 1000000%.
How would you describe the TSS culture to someone considering joining?
“Bestie vibes”.
What is the biggest misconception about influencer marketing?
That influencers don’t have busy days — most of my influencers are grinding everyday between 9-5.
What advice would you give brands entering creator partnerships?
Be transparent with all parts of the offer in the beginning (including usage, exclusivity, blackout dates, etc.)
What do you prioritize when picking creators for your roster?
Creators whose community feels like they know them as a bestie!
What is your favorite TSS Team moment?
The dinner at the end of NYFW where everyone was delirious.
How has TSS supported your personal or professional growth?
The company, especially Jay, has had more faith in me than anyone I have ever worked with — that’s given me the confidence to grow and come into my own.

If you could switch roles with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
Ella!! But I’d need her creative brain — I love how fun her posts are so hopefully she has as much fun making them 🙂
What is your secret sauce as a creator manager? What makes you unique as a manager?
Never missing any emails through my organization tools.
What is the most common misconception about your job?
Just because we’re remote doesn’t mean we’re not on it — I am LOCKED IN from 9-5.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Allowing creators to be able to quit their job and achieve their dreams!
Where is your preferred place to work? Desk, Couch, Bed, Coffee Shop?
Coffee Shop if I can make it out of bed!
What is your fav mid-day bev to get you through a long work day?
Iced green tea.
What is your best secret talent?
I feel like I’m an email queen — I’m SOOO proud of my emails and how far I’ve come as an email wordsmith lol.
