Q4 is upon us – the holiday season is nearly in full swing, holiday shopping is starting to be on consumers’ minds, and as an influencer, the holiday content is stacking up. In order to make the most of this holiday season and not overwhelm yourself with the hustle and bustle of this time of year, here are a few tips for preparing for the 2021 Holiday Season:

#1 Start preparing content now. Make a list of all of your ideas for holiday content to see the big picture of what needs to be done. Set a realistic goal of how much content you personally want to put out as compared to brand deals that have specific deadlines. From there, make a calendar to note any deadlines and fill in with your own content plan that coincide with the holidays – including when you need to shoot, film, and edit. Being ahead of your holiday content is far better than being behind it.

#2 Finalize your Q4 brand deals as early as possible. This will help with the previous step in setting a timeline for when things are due, as well as give you plenty of time to prepare for your collaborations to ensure you are creating stellar content with ample time. Campaigns come fast and hard – being available to take projects on and being adaptable to timelines is key to not getting overwhelmed. Additionally, supply chain issues are happening all over the world. Not only do you need to allot enough time for a brand to send you a product, but also enough time for your followers to shop said product with ample time.

#3 Remain flexible. Viral trends come and go, and if you have the bandwidth to join in on that new trending TikTok sound – you absolutely should! Having a plan outside of the sporadic trending opportunities (which will occur) allows you to put the fun back in these moments, rather than feeling like you have to stay on top of these trends because you have no other content planned.

#4 Talk to your followers. Check in with them to see what they want to see from you during the holidays! They might just have some amazing ideas or suggestions that you wouldn’t have thought of otherwise. Be prepared for any questions your followers may have about links or items you’re showing and allot extra time to responding to DM’s.

#5 Have FUN! Remember, the holiday season is for spending time with family and friends. If you are feeling overwhelmed or have over-committed yourself to content plans, take some time to re-evaluate your processes. If you work with us, your talent manager can help you through these moments. That’s what we’re here for, after all!
